Grave goods expanding the knowledge, community interests and beliefs reflected in archeology.

The conference is taking place on October 25-26 in Võru and Võru County and is organized by Võru Institute.

Two topics have been announced: expanding the knowledge through modern possibilities for examining grave goods, especially human remains; archeological portrayals of the forest brothers informed by the excavations of their common graves and bunkers. These topics are connected through the questions of local traditions and research ethics concerning human remains. In terms of the Võro people’s ways of life, these themes relate to the motives from the mythical songs of the Bride of the Grave.

Everyone interested in these topics are welcome to participate.
